Criterion Cottage - 1 Bagot Street

We loved staying in Criterion Cottage (our third time). Sofas and beds are comfortable and it was such a relief to know we had electric blankets should we need them. The Mediterranean-style living area is light-filled and adorned with tasteful original artworks (a real bonus!). Together they set the scene for a real holiday. Location is brilliant with shops, beachfront and cafés an easy walk away. Love it!

A quaint little cottage close ta all amenities and a stroll away from the beach and other sites.
Adequate space for our needs and great to have our 2 dogs stay with us inside.
Patio could have been maintained and bbq unusable.
Cleaners need to check all cupboards as there was mouldy food left in one.
Main bedroom mattress /bed needs replacing.
Overall an enjoyable stay.

Cottage was clean, tidy, comfortable beds, adequate appliances, quirky rooms, safe for pets, perfect location - look forward to our next stay

House is in an excellent location, easy walk to all shops, beaches and restaurants and loved the fact that it was pet friendly.
We found the courtyard a lovely sun trap on the cooler days.
The house is great but could do with a really good spring clean and a little TLC to a few areas.

Please be aware the main bedroom is upstairs & bathroom & toilet are downstairs. Steep narrow tread stairs.

The bathroom is perfect, washing machine close by, a very functional kitchen, dining area plus two living areas. An open fire is a great winter attraction & in the small courtyard there’s a Weber barbecue for self catering.
We love the history, the comfortable accommodation & location to the Main Street, the front beach & marina. The cottage was very clean & nicely presented with great Art work everywhere. Sheets & towels are provided & for a small fee the beds can be made up for you.

Everytime we walk into our cottage with the red door we instantly feel at home. Plenty of space and well set out living areas allow our family and doggos to enjoy being together. Recent enhancements were noticed and appreciated. THANK YOU See you again soon

Great stay over Christmas period with our doggos. Clean, open and has everything you need. Close to the beach and very short stroll to shops. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. We particularly enjoyed the artworks. It is in a very convenient location - close to the coastal walking trail as well as to the main street.

We had a lovely time. The cottage is in a great location, within minutes walking distance from cafes, shops and beach. The cottage was clean and neat on arrival and very comfortable. Dog friendly, however no fencing. Would happily recommend this B&B

I wasn't going to write a review for this property because I didn't really want to alert people to how good it is. However I will; Criterion cottage is perfectly located just back from the charming Main Street of Robe and within walking distance of everything. This property is a great combination of old and new, chic and functional. Also you can bring your dog! usually dog friendly properties are not so nice (although I would say that children probably do more damage and should have a surcharge). We will be coming back to this great little spot.

Lovely place centrally located close to all the shops and cafes.

Perfect location, good size cottage, comfy accommodation. I understand there has been difficulty getting cleaning staff the last few years, and on the whole the cottage was clean... ie: kitchen, bathroom, living spaces. But the whole cottage needs a deep spring clean. In particular BBQ and patio area, bedrooms, windows and screens. I will return again, loved Robe and the cottage. Recommend and good luck to you all.

Central character house. In a very central part if Robe. Very clean. Needs a full length mirror. Main bedroom is up quite steep stairs and bathroom downstairs.

The courtyard is sunny for summer entertaining plus there’s a good bbq. Bedroom 1 is upstairs with a very small balcony & French doors to catch the sea breeze. Bedroom 2 is adjacent the front lounge. Entertaining is fun in the spacious lounge/kitchen area. The bathroom is small & very functional. The location is fabulous, so close to the front beach & minutes from great cafes restaurants hotels patisseries Robe bakery & many interesting fashion & outlets. We took great walks to the marina & onto the Obelisk from Criterion Cottage. It’s also pet friendly.

We love our cottage with the red door. First came here in 2000 and now could easily spend more time here as Empty Nesters. From the moment we unlock the door we totally relax. Even our two Border Collies relish in the family down time together. Looking back on photos over the past 20 years we notice the subtle changes but our stay feels the same... perfect! Will be back soon.

The building is charming, however I spent half an hour getting rid of cobweb etc outside. Furnishings could be updated. This house has so much potential to be a charming holiday home, so centrally licated

Most pleasant

We enjoyed our week in Robe, with wife, son and labradoodle. The cottage is in a very central location, we actually didn't need to drive anywhere. During our stay we we fortunate enough to watch the 100th anniversary of the war memorial and later the Christmas parade in town. The upstairs room has great views, but my wife and son decided to avoid the steep a stairs and sleep downstairs.

A most enjoyable time!Needed dusting and removal of cobwebs

Very convenient location to town centre. Comfortable bed. However some areas need upgrading. The toilet was leaking, the windows needed washing, and the kitchen is beginning to look a little shabby. Otherwise a nice stay.

Great design. Very comfortable. Loved the lounge and fireplace. Very cossy. The upstairs bedroom has a balcony with sea views. Will definitely refer the property to others and look forward to our next stay.

Some extra little touches would be welcome - but enjoyable.

This was our second stay and enjoyable. However, the cleaners do need to do a better job and, as owners of a B&B ourselves, attention to more detail would be good. We needed scissors on more than one occasion(People like to shop and remove labels), having to reach under the bed to turn on bedside lights is awkward and you can't have the lights and electric blanket at the same time! I wouldn't ask the guests to make their own bed and sweep the floors either. Might go again - but the downstairs loo is a hassle on a cold night.

Perfect place for our dog and us. Great location in town, everything you will need for a relaxing stay. Courtyard was lovely area to eat and relax with our dog! Robe has so many beautiful walks and sights to see and it is all at your doorstep at Criterion Cottage.

Great location! A romantic, tastefully furnished cottage with comfortable beds, sea glimpses, beautiful artwork and an outdoor dining area with a taste of Provence. Can't wait to be back!

This cottage was great. Really appreciated tasteful furnishings, artwork and all that you need kitchen. Dog friendly with private walled courtyard.

Great place for my husband & I to stay with our dog for 6 days. Central Location close to shops & walks.The cottage is comfortable & well equipped. We enjoyed our stay & would recommend it.

It was warm, but no air con, so sleeping for a couple of nights was tough. Downstairs bedroom very stuffy
